Well, now we know how Adam Levine really feels about MTV!

The Maroon 5 frontman tweeted Saturday: "The VMAs [are the] one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I'm drawing a line in the sand. F--k you, VMAs."

The network quickly responded to The Voice mentor via their Twitter, telling the singer: "Soooo you'll be tuning in at 9/8C tomorrow right? (BTW, bonus points if you TwitPic your 2004 Moonman!)"

Adam didn't leave it at that though. Less than 30 minutes later, the musician stuck by his initial tweet, saying: "Still waiting to have my 'Jerry Maguire mission statement moment of deep regret.' Not happening. Phew!"

Yet, the singer, who is currently on tour with Train and Gavin DeGraw, apparently took time to reflect upon his statement, later tweeting: "I may be a pop singer. But every once in a while the angsty teenager in me just blurts out some raw honesty. It's a reflex."

Angsty teenage honesty? Sounds like rock 'n' roll to us.
