If you didn't fall in love with our TV crush Grey Damon back when he was on Friday Night Lights, then hopefully you've been tracking him on his new show, The Nine Lives of Chloe King on ABC Family.

However, if you still haven't jumped on the Grey train, now is the perfect time! First of all, just look at that face. Easy on the eyes, right? Second, we had a nice chat with him about playing good guy Brian on Nine Lives, and how happy he was to see FNL get the Emmy love it so deserves. Plus, is Grey Team Brian or Team Alek? His answer may surprise you…

What is it about Brian that you think appeals to viewers?
Grey Damon:
I like Brian because he is a nice guy. I know that's boring, but it's funny because I wanted to play a guy who is nice and sweet and charismatic. I feel like I am close to that in real life, but I have just been playing asses. [Laughs.] I think it's a challenge to make a nice guy interesting so that's exactly what I am trying to do and I hope I am pleasing people. I read a few comments saying that I am boring but hey, what are you going to do? It seemed challenging to me so I wanted to take that opportunity.

Have you been pleased with the way Brian's storyline has been progressing?
Honestly, it's just the arc that's going on with Brian that's intriguing to me, and I didn't know it was going to go that way. And to be completely honest, I didn't completely think out what it would be like to be Brian. I simply thought that it would be fun. I like going along for the ride and not trying to figure it out so much. In the audition process, there was a scene in particular that I really liked in the pilot where they're in the store where they meet. I really like that scene. That scene is initially what I fell in love with, it was just sort of cute and quirky and weird and fun and adorable. Brian is kind of a man's man and in the story he has emasculated himself because he likes this girl.

Fans want to know: Team Brian or Team Alex?
I am team Alek. [Laughs.] No, I am neutral. Obviously Brian is the better choice because they are genuinely in love with each other. Chloe (Skyler Samuels) really loves Brian whereas Alek (Benjamin Stone) is just shoving his way into her life and she sort of has to be around Alek. Yes, she does learn to care for him, but it's not very pleasant. It's awkward, and it's foreign. Brian is very America. Also, what's weird is that Alek is actually safe. You would think that Brian would be the nice guy but no, Alek is safe as far as relationship goes because he is this guy who wants to protect her. It still seems like Brian would be the better choice logically. But of course, who thinks logically when it comes to TV shows?

I hear you have an imposter on Twitter. That's a sign that you've truly made it!
I do! There is an imposter who thinks he is me. I do not have a twitter. I want people to know. This guy is saying that I go out and drink all the time. I barely go out. And he says I like Transformers 3, which I do, but I personally want to tell people that, not freaking tweeter.

Duly noted. You are not on "freaking tweeter." What can you tell us about the rest of the season?
I was actually very surprised about where things went, because we are now done filming this first season. As far as the Brian character, he just gets more interesting. You just really don't know what is going to happen with Brian or where his storyline is going. And then as far as the show goes in general, I was pleasantly surprised by how it was not a cliché. For a show like this, it's very easy to fall into old customs. People are expecting cliché elements and there are some, but I was surprised. Seriously, the finale is one of the biggest freaking finales I have ever read in my life. And then where we filmed it, in this incredibly gorgeous theater…it was an old 1800's theater. It's so freaking awesome. And this episode in particular, I cannot wait to see it! I think it's going to be epic!

And congrats on all the Emmy love Friday Night Lights recieved! How do you feel?
Ecstatic. I think Kyle (Chandler) and Connie (Britton) deserve this so much and I think the show deserves it. If they don't win…

If they don't win, we can set some things on fire.
[Laughs.] I will hold the gas can, or the matches. I want to set that sh-t ablaze if they don't win. I think there is no mystery that this show is outstanding. It has an exceptional cast with beautiful actors. They are good looking in a whole other light, and they're so freaking talented. The casting job was outstanding. For me to come on a show like that, I was really hoping I could just do a decent job to match just a quarter of anyone's caliber on the show. I feel like this should have happened forever ago. But, I mean really, with all the crap that's currently on TV, why did it take so long?

The Nine Lives of Chloe King airs Tuesday nights on ABC Family.
