Rumors swirled over the weekend that erstwhile Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger had gotten engaged to her boyfriend of four years, hotshot British Formula 1 racer Lewis Hamilton.

The reports were sparked by an interview given to the Daily Mail by Nicole's father, Alfonso Valiente, who not only was quoted by the tabloid saying, "yes, they are engaged," but referred to Hamilton (whose vehicular alter ego is featured in Cars 2) as "my future son-in-law."

While Scherzinger's rep denied rumors of an engagement to E! News, Nicole took it upon herself wanted to squash every last bit of the rumor, taking to Twitter to formally shoot down her father's claim.

"Lewis and I woke up this morning and read we were engaged!" she tweeted. "Sorry to disappoint u all but its not true:)"
