When it comes to Paris Hilton, some folks apparently prefer the jail life over the Simple Life.

So it goes for James Rainford. The man who trespassed at her Hollywood Hills residence last October, then assaulted the hotel heiress and her then-boyfriend Cy Waits outside court in April has been busted again—this time for violating a restraining order when he was found loitering Monday outside her Malibu Beach home.

These were not the kind of Fourth of July fireworks Paris was expecting.

According to the Malibu Sheriff's Department, officers reponded to a call of a suspicious person standing on the beach staring into Hilton's estate. The caller also stated his belief that the man was Rainford.

When deputies arrived, a gaggle of paparazzi pointed him out. Cops confirmed the 36-year-old Rainford's identity and determined he was in violation of the protective order that barred him from coming within 200 yards of the socialite or her residence.

Rainford was taken into custody without incident, booked and is currently behind bars on $20,000 bail. He's due to be arraigned in a Van Nuys courtroom later today.

A rep for Hilton was unavailable for comment.
