Here's one TV event that could rival even the final episode of Oprah Winfrey's show.

Reports have been running rampant today that the former queen of daytime TV is planning on sitting down with O.J. Simpson for a televised jailhouse interview, during which he will admit that he did, in fact, murder his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson.

Naturally, this kind of thing would be just as big, if not bigger, than when the verdict was announced in 1995 acquitting Simpson of the charges that he had ended the lives of both his late spouse and her friend Ron Goldman.

Well, upon further investigation, we've learned that this rumor is...

So false!

Or, as a rep for Winfrey's production company, Harpo, told The Hollywood Reporter: "That's not true."

Of course, that's not to say we won't someday see something like this actually go down.

"I have a dream of O.J. Simpson confessing to me," Winfrey said while attending the National Cable & Telecommunications Assn. convention in Chicago last week, adding:  "I don't just want the interview. I want the interview on the condition that you are ready, Mr. Simpson. And I am going to make that happen, people."

Just not right now, apparently.
