The last trip down the aisle cost Paul McCartney more than $50 million. Let's hope this one works out better for him.

The music legend is planning on making his third trip down the aisle, popping the question to his stunning girlfriend of four years, Nancy Shevell, his publicist confirms.

By all accounts, she's no Heather Mills.

While McCartney, 68,  is 17 years older than Shevell, People cites an unnamed source saying the two "have the right chemistry" and that they're "both cool, chilled out and optimistic."

That's a bit different than McCartney's drama-filled marriage to Mills, which flamed out in 2006 amid nasty allegations.

As for Shevell, she's a working gal, sitting on the board of the New York Transportation Authority.

"Nancy and Paul are getting married," the source confirmed about the duo's status. "Ring and all, very exciting."

The couple met in the Hamptons, where McCartney has a home, in the summer of 2007.

Shevell has apparently even won the approval McCartney's tough-as-nails designer daughter, Stella—something Mills could never do.

Before Mills, McCartney was married to longtime love Linda McCartney, who died of breast cancer in 1998.

He had previousy denied rumors of an engagement to Shevell, but this time it's apparently the real deal.
