Inside Jennifer Aniston's New $5.9 Million Apartment

Jennifer Aniston is heading east.

I just got word that Hollywood's most eligible leading lady has bought a new apartment in New York City...

A source tells me that Aniston is set to close on a $5.9 million penthouse located in the heart of the West Village. But get this—it only has one bedroom and one bath!

So why so pricey?

The apartment happens to be a 1,200 square foot penthouse on the eighteenth floor of a prewar building with a doorman. Its best feature is probably the 800-square foot terrace with north, south, east and west views of the New York Harbor to the Empire State Building.

It also has a new open kitchen, dining room, living room, hardwood and poured concrete floors as well as four closets.

The neighborhood is familiar territory for Aniston. The building used for the exterior shots of the iconic Friends apartment building is just a few blocks away.

After being spotted looking at properties late last year, Aniston confirmed in February that she was on the hunt for a place "back home" in NYC.

"I've been looking and looking and looking," she told Robin Roberts on Good Morning America. "I grew up here (New York City). I miss it. There is nothing like being in the city that is just the city of Everyman. It's all walks of life. I love that."

No surprise, but real estate agents handling the sale did not immediately comment while Aniston's rep would not confirm or deny the purchase. "Reports of her buying a NY apartment come out about three to four times a year," he wrote in an email. "Eventually they will be right as she wants a NY place but we won't be issuing a statement when or if that happens."

Does that mean we can't come to the housewarming?
