Reality star turned fashion designer's new endeavor, thebeautydepartment.com, shows ladies the perfect red lipstick, how to have with nail polish along with other assorted ways to get pretty

Gwyneth Paltrow isn't the only star doling out advice online.

Lauren Conrad has just created thebeautydepartment.com, a website that offers tips on getting pretty—like how to achieve the perfect red lip, get Old Hollywood waves and have fun with nail polish...

"Growing up, I never really learned how to do my hair and makeup correctly and the results weren't always great," the reality star turned fashion designer said in a statement.

"Our goal with the Beauty Department," she continued, "is to provide girls and young women with a basic how-to of simplified versions of popular trends and styles that they can re-create themselves."

Lauren's post on ombré nails is pretty cool, and she (like Gwynnie) also features herself in some of the how-tos.
