Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio are two hunky humanitarians.

The pair are being honored as Greenest Celebrities of the Year, as TheDailyGreen.com announced its 2011 Heart of Green Awards. Damon was the Editor's Choice winner while Leonardo DiCaprio won the people's vote for Greenest Celebrity.

And what did they do to deserve the awards, you ask?

Damon's recent focus has been clean water. He co-founded H20 Africa and has been confronting the continent's ongoing water crisis. Another Damon project with a similar goal is Water.org. This one is an active global movement to dig wells, safeguard supplies and advocate justice around the world for developing or distraught regions, such as Haiti.

Alongside these projects, the Bourne trilogy star will be hosting and narrating a PBS special this month titled Journey to Planet Earth.

As for DiCaprio, he's been an eco-friendly do-gooder for years. He owns an eco-friendly apartment in New York City, arrives to award shows in hybrid vehicles, prefers commercial flights over chartered jets, and is the head of an eponymous foundation that helps bring attention to certain environmental issues.

One of DiCaprio's shining green deeds was his documentary, The 11th Hour, which the actor wrote, narrated and co-produced. The film highlighted the impact humans have had on the environment, such as global warming, mass species extinction and deforestation.

With or without the awards, these two studs are making Mother Nature proud—and Captain Planet green with envy!
