Paula Abdul just had a dating emergency. Literally.

The ex-American Idol judge's Valentine's Day date ended in a frantic 911 call.

So what went down?

In a recording obtained by TMZ, Abdul can be heard repeateldy screaming, "Drop me off!"

The call was placed at 4:35 p.m. on Feb. 14 near Santa Barbara. Abdul can be heard sobbing hysterically and yelling, "I wanna go, and he won't let me!"

She informs her unidentified driver that she has called authorities. "Are you gonna drop me off, 'cause I have an emergency on the phone."

Right after that, Abdul then informs the operator that she was being dropped off.

Police reportedly contaced Abdul later and she explained it was just a verbal argument. She declined to file a police report.

Abdul's publicist confirmed to E! News that the couple had a fight, but things are better.

"Arguments with loved ones are often times heated," the rep said. "After the call was made everything was worked out."
