Adele is full-on proof that living well is the best revenge.

The Grammy winner hit Chelsea Lately tonight and the two gals got on like a house on fire. For starters, both women find inspiration for their writing in personal lives.

While Adele has openly admitted that her latest album, 21, is all based on unsent letters she wrote after her ex-boyfriend broke up with her, she did note to Chelsea Handler, "I think he's a bit bitter, because the album is doing better than anyone expected."

But before it sounds like gloating, she quickly added, "He was all right, though...He wasn't as big of a prick as my first boyfriend." Ha!

After cracking up, Chelsea replied, "I write about everyone I dated. It's like, I'm sorry, I have to make fun of you."

The adorable songbird is full of other fun stories, too—like the time she mistook Sarah Palin for Tina Fey and when she almost ran over Sean "Diddy" Combs with a golf cart! Hit the clip for the full dish.
