So True So False, STSF

Um…it's probably too late to say "spoiler alert," right?

Rumors flew fast and furious this morning that a hush-hush engagement had taken place during as E!'s reality hit Kourtney & Kim Take New York shot its final scenes of the season.

After several years and one adorable son together, went the reports, Scott Disick finally popped the question to his long-suffering baby mama Kourtney Kardashian.

That there was no public sporting of a diamond, deal for a prime-time wedding special or official tweet announcing the news (if nothing else, we can all agree that the Kardashians love them some publicity) was chalked up to the idea that the engagement is being kept secret to be revealed on the final episode of the season. Is it plausible? Of course. But is it true? Break out the prenups, this rumor is…

So false!

A network rep confirms to E! News that the wave of engagement rumors to hit the press this morning are completely untrue. Which is exactly what a source close to the Kardashian family also told us. Not to mention, Kourtney herself.

"WOW!! Where do the mags come up with this stuff?" she tweeted this morning. "And claiming exclusives? Come on now."

The rumor was brought to ferocious life today by Life & Style, which cited a source close to Kourtney as saying she was wearing an engagement ring while at home and couldn't wait for the show's April finale to go public with the news.

Trust us on this one: when Kourtney—or any member of the Kardashian clan—really does get engaged, there's no way it's going to be a secret for long. Not if Kris Jenner can help it, anyway.
