Heidi Gutman/BravoPatti Stanger is coming out—fists swinging—against the "lying" Millionaire Matchmaker daters who just dissed her big time.
Taking the Bravo reality star to task in today's New York Post's Page Six, some fourth-season participants are whining that Stanger edited the show to make them look "awkward," destroying their businesses and their reputations.
Needless to say, Stanger ain't buying the bitch session, right, Patti?
"This is all lies, plus they're under contract by Bravo," Stanger tells E! News. "I don't have control over the edits, I'm not in the editing room, you're on a show. Look at the Kardashians, what do you think that is? It's a reality show."
The Page Six report also claims next season may be the last for the show because the network can't deal with Stanger's tantrums.
"This story is untrue," Stanger tells us, with steam practically coming from her ears.
She says that not only does Bravo not have a problem with her, but that Matchmaker is an unmitigated hit. (This week's season finale had the show's best ratings ever: 2.2 million viewers.)
"I didn't go anywhere, other networks approached me," she says. "I get offers from all different networks and for feature films all the time. I took one feature film."
As for the complaining contestants, Stanger says they are who they appear to be on camera and that nothing is pieced together to portray them in an unfair way.
"Listen, it's not my fault their business fell off the wagon," she says of contestant Doug Kapanis, a Long Island divorce lawyer who appeared on the show and was soon after dropped as a legal expert by TruTV because he appeared "sexist."
"I haven't gotten any calls since my appearance," he says in the Post.
Too bad, responds Stanger.
"They come on my show to get famous and brand themselves," she says us of the lovelorn show subjects. "It is not scripted. You are who you are."
As for Brooklyn millionaire Jason Teich, who was shown downing drinks on Matchmaker then complained producers "fed" them to him while Stanger labeled him an alcoholic?
"He brought his own beer to set and was drinking," she tells us. "This is all lies. They're pissed they got on camera and they're not happy with what they saw."
Season five of the hit show starts soon with the single Stanger hosting. She still insists she's got a great success rate and that if you're really looking for love and not fame, she'll help you.
Just don't mess with this cupid—she's now got her lawyer on speed-dial.
