Here's some medical news that we hope in no way involved 30 Rock's Dr. Spaceman: Tracy Morgan has undergone a kidney transplant.

According to his rep, "Tracy is doing well and taking some much needed time to recover after the surgery."

So what does this mean for his status on the show? How long will he be MIA?

Tracy and his character Tracy Jordan will be missing for two episodes this season, an absence that will be explained by some sort of "happy news," according to a source close to the series. Spoiler alert: Might Mr. Jordan be jet-setting off somewhere to celebrate his highly anticipated Golden Globe win? Whatever the good news, you can also bet good money Jenna will be headed for a fit of jealous rage.

Tracy's rep tells us he's "looking forward to going back to work after the holidays."

Morgan is the second 30 Rock castmember to get a new organ in 2010. Grizz Chapman, who plays one of Jordan's devoted hangers-on, also got a kidney transplant this year after suffering for months with end-stage renal disease.
