Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson, Bronx Mowgli Wentz

Just because Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-wentz are parents to baby Bronx doesn't mean they don't still love a good time.

Even though Pete says they're total homebodies these days, telling me, "We have a pretty early bedtime. A wild one for us is last night: We stayed up past 10 and watched Black Swan," their social schedule this past week was anything but mellow...

Last Saturday, they attended Nicole Richie and Joel Madden's wedding, along with an elephant. On Sunday, they brought Bronx along for an Old Navy holiday party, where they donned festive outfits.

Tuesday, mom Ashlee stepped out for Charlotte Ronson's dinner party, where she sat with Nicky Hilton Rothschild. On Wednesday, they got a babysitter for Bronx and both attended the X Life launch party, where Pete deejayed. And that wasn't even Ashlee's last stop! She also popped up at the Black 15in1 preview at Andy Lecompte salon.

Don't expect their social schedule to slow down in 2011, either. After they spend Christmas in L.A. with Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson, they're off to Chicago, where Pete's hosting the Chicago version of E!'s Ciroc the New Year celebration.

"Usually the best thing I bring to the party is my wife. She always makes parties more fun for me," he told me earlier this week.

Leave it to these two to prove that just because you have a baby doesn't mean you can't make it to all the best bashes!

This week's party foul goes to Jake Gyllenhaal, who was conspicuously absent from girlfriend Taylor Swift's 21st birthday party Monday. While Taylor threw herself a party in Nashville, Jake was back in L.A. splitting frozen yogurt with someone else.

Surely there was some reason Jake wasn't by her girl's side for such a huge milestone, but come on! Taylor's already in good with his sister, Maggie, and has hung out with Jakey all around NYC. We think Jake should have been there in Nashville on her big day.

But supposedly, he's already making up for missing it. According to the sometimes reliable Daily Mail, he bought Taylor a special $11,000 guitar for her birthday. Which is nice and all, but Taylor seems like the kind of girl who prefers a boyfriend's presence over a pricey present.
