Sucks to be you, Barrymores! Better luck next time, Hustons.

Bruce Dern, ex-wife Diane Ladd and their thespian progeny Laura Dern were all inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, the first time that three stars have been presented to members of the same family at the same time.

Laura graciously credited soon to be ex-husband Ben Harper for the idea of having the whole family honored at once. "That meant the world to me and my parents and our children," the actress said during Monday's ceremony in front of the W Hollywood.

"I couldn't have asked for a more perfect education than being raised in the '70s by Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd on movie sets," she added.

David Lynch, who directed Laura in Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart and Inland Empire, called her no less than "the greatest actress in the world."
