Instead of answering the same ol' Robsten "are they really together, Ted?" questions (uh, that would be a yes) in our usual Saturday Bitch-Back, we want to bring to your attention to a very important cause: Race for the Rescues.

Help us save hundreds of innocent animal lives in Southern California! Please. Donate to Race for the Rescues 2010. The group is hosting an event Oct. 24 at the Rose Bowl and hosted by the ultra-fab, Emmy-Award winning Jane Lynch, and the top fundraisers will get to meet Jane and take home tons of Glee swag!

If not for us, do it because Sue Sylvester tells you so. No, seriously. Here's a message straight from Jane to you Awful Truth readers:

"I support the Race for the Rescues every year because almost all the doggies and kitties are adopted that day! It's instant gratification! And all of the shelters involved are no-kill."

You had us at no-kill, Jane. That's a very importation distinction. Margo and Charlie Casablanca are from city shelters, which put animals down if they're not adopted in a very short amount of time. It's a horrendous situation.

"The people who run these organizations have a kind of ferocious passion for an animal's well-being that just knocks me out," Lynch adds.

"The event itself is a hoot; a great early morning walk or run, then a fabulous fashion show complete with cat walk. All the money raised helps these shelters stay open to continue their good works on behalf of animals."

So if you're in the SoCal area, come join! If not, a general donation would be an amazing way to start your weekend off right.

Margo and Charlie would appreciate it forever!
