Where's Bones when you need him?

Leonard Nimoy is currently recovering after going under the knife for "minor benign abdominal surgery."

Which, for those keeping score at home, is slightly less painful than a Vulcan nerve pinch.

Word of the actor's condition came courtesy of the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach, Calif., which was set to host "An Evening With Leonard Nimoy" on Saturday night.

"Leonard Nimoy will not appear tomorrow evening," the statement read. "He has had emergency surgery for a minor, benign, abdominal condition and is recovering beautifully.

"[Wife] Susan Bay Nimoy extends her thanks to everyone for their get-well wishes."

No further details on the operation, including where or when it took place, were given. (The 79-year-old Star Trekker was tweeting up until Tuesday, when he was in New York to attend a performance by Vulcan heir Zachary Quinto's Angels in America.)

Nimoy also canceled an appearance at Massachusetts MOCA. Both the missed events are expected to be rescheduled.

We know the erstwhile Mr. Spock will live long and prosper, but here's hoping he'll also have a speedy recovery.
