You might be wondering what the really important cases are up in Alaska. And we have at least one answer for you: determining whether or not Bristol Palin was eating nachos.

The Alaska Dispatch is reporting that the underage Dancing With the Stars contestant was at an Anchorage watering hole watching dancing partner Mark Ballas perform, and officials are investigating if it was even legal for her to be in there…

Bristol, 19, was at Rumrunners Old Towne Bar and Grill last Friday to support her DWTS costar, who moonlights as a would-be music star. State law says if you're under 21 at a bar, you have to be accompanied by a legal guardian or spouse over 21. Mark is 24, but as far as we know, he's neither her guaridian or spouse...at least not yet.

Also, state law makes her presence at the bar legal if it's designated as a restaurant, and if she was there to eat. TMZ reports that Bristol did indeed have a meal: nachos. We're not sure how the nacho defense will hold up, but an investigator for the Alcohol and Control Board isn't about to let this one slide. The investigator has reportedly asked Rumrunners for a tape of Mark's performance to study Bristol's visit to the bar. The request has so far been denied.

The Alaska Department of Public Safety has declined to comment, saying it would only issue a statement if charges were filed.

Bristol's staying mum, too. She might be too busy in the dance studio working off those nachos.
