Brad Womack

What's old is apparently new again at ABC.

After Bachelorette runner-up Chris Lambton turned down the gig to be the next Bachelor, the network went back for seconds, tapping season 11 rose-bearer Brad Womack as the lead singleton in the next edition of the matchmaking series, a production insider tells E! News.

And if you remember correctly, Brad made a shocking choice when he was originally on the ABC series...

The 37-year-old Texan chose no one at the conclusion of his 2007 season. Reject DeAnna Pappas went on to the be the next Bachelorette...see how it all comes full circle?

Meanwhile, spotlight-shy Lambton definitely won't be partcipating, according to the source.

For now ABC is playing coy: "We have no comment on this story," says a network rep. "We will be announcing this in the near future and then everyone will know who it is."

Of course, we're pretty sure we know already.

Did you hear former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky may walk down the aisle on camera?
