Lindsay Lohan's former lawyer had no problem telling the world that the jail-broken starlet has "a disease." Her current counselor is playing Lohan's status a little closer to the vest.
Even before LiLo's early-morning release and transport to, reportedly, the UCLA Medical Center to begin a full 90-day stint in rehab, rumors started circulating over what, exactly, the actress would be seeking treatment for.
This morning, sleep-deprived lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley shot down one report that has garnered the most traction—or at least, shot down any personal knowledge of them in a very carefully worded statement:
"I have never received any information from any source which asserts that Ms. Lohan is bipolar or uses methamphetamine or that it is her 'drug of choice,' " Holley told E! News, addressing a TMZ story from the weekend. "This is yet another provocative—yet totally false—story."
There you have it. Straight from the Holley's mouth.
And while the parties involved aren't spilling about the particulars of her treatment plan, they are a bit more loose-lipped about her treatment center.
Los Angeles County District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison told E! News that Lindsay's rehab program, which she will only go so far as to say is in Los Angeles County, is not being footed by the taxpayers, nor will it be a repeat of the last 14 days.
"It's not like a lock-down in a jail which was what Redmond O'Neal was under," Robison said. "But it is an inpatient program and she cannot come and go as she pleases."
UPDATE: E! News has confirmed that Lohan is being treated for substance abuse and psychological issues at UCLA's Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, which specializes in dual diagnosis cases.
