Like a fierce mama bear, Angelina Jolie is defending her cub.

Ever since the actress described daughter Shiloh's tomboy style as, er, Montenegro, she's been slammed in the press for her vague choice of words.

So while doing press for her summer action flick Salt, the mother of six took the opportunity to lash back at her critics...

"I think she is fascinating, the choices she is making," Angie tells Reuters about her and partner Brad Pitt's 4-year-old. "And I would never be the kind of parent to force somebody to be something they are not. I think that is just bad parenting."

You tell 'em, babe.

But wait, she's not done yet. Angelina continues: "Children should be allowed to express themselves in whatever way they wish without anybody judging them because it is an important part of their growth. Society always has something to learn when it comes to the way we judge each other, label each other. We have far to go."

So there. Now that that's been put to rest, everyone can just let Shi be herself and move on.
