Today's is Robin Thicke's first Father's Day as a new dad.

He and wife Paula Patton welcomed baby Julien Fuego in April.

So what does the sexy crooner have planned for the day for him and his son? Plus, what does he have to say about his recent tourmate Alicia Keys' baby news? Read on to find out…

"We're going to see my dad and barbeque for him," Thicke, whose father is actor Alan Thicke, recently told me.

Thicke admits he wasn't always the great Father's Day gift-giver. "It was always a pretty shifty gift from 7-Eleven," he remembered. "One year, my brother gave him a bag of corn nuts or something like that. My dad was kind of mad. He was like, ‘You guys gotta step it up.'"

So what's been the best part of fatherhood for the 33-year-old singer? "Just the electricity he creates," he said. "There's an energy. And in all selfishness, my writing has never been better. There's so many new feelings and depths and thoughts and things that I care about and other things that I don't."

Thicke's most recent single, "It's In the Mornin'," features Snoop Dogg. The accompanying video is a sexy romp with smokin' hot model Manuela Arbelaez.

"I'm not normally a morning person," Thicke said.

But then he added, "Sometimes my lady brings it out in me."

Thicke toured earlier this year with first-time mom-to-be Alicia Keys, who recently announced she was expecting and engaged to producer Swizz Beatz. "That is so exciting," Thicke said of the baby news. "Good for them. They are both lovely people. They deserve that. That's wonderful."
