After enjoying a late lunch at Le Pan Quotidien in Beverly Hills Sunday, Katie Holmes and daughter Suri hit Barneys for a mother/daughter shopping excursion.
"Suri showed her mom a pair of silver Marc Jacobs flats she really liked," an eyewitness tells E!
Oh, but did she get 'em?
"Katie told Suri she already had a similar pair and instead checked out a brown Miu Miu heel." Awwww!
Holmes, dressed in jeans and a black tunic with her hair pulled back, was very low key and shoppers didn't even seem to recognize the famous family.
"You can tell they are very close," adds our stunned spy. "Suri would pick out shoes for Katie and bring them to her, it was really cute."
But the duo left the shoe department empty handed and decided to then head upstairs to the children's clothing section.
"We're going to try on some dresses for her," Holmes was overheard saying to a saleswoman, referring to her daughter.
Suri, wearing a white and blue dress with her hair in pigtails, took charge of the situation and took her mother's hand to guide her upstairs.
If only the rest of Hollywood could have such savvy lil' shoppers on-hand when they pick out their looks.
