Attention may have since been diverted to other pressing national disasters, but Christina Aguilera is continuing to shine a spotlight on the devastation in Haiti.

The singer visited two schools in the quake-stricken nation Tuesday, meeting with children receiving food aid as part of her duties as the World Food Program's new Ambassador Against Hunger.

She, along with hubby Jordan Bratman, served up meals of rice and beans to the kids, met with officials to discuss the hunger response in the wake of the quake and learned about the nation's ongoing recovery effort.

"I was so moved by the devastation in Haiti but also by the spirit of its people," she said. "The children have such joy and are eager to learn despite the destruction around them. The children deserve a chance, and I want to make sure they get a chance."
