Boy, people must feel really bad about giving Denise Richards a hard time back during her bitter divorce from Charlie Sheen.

Her ex, the former Two and a Half Men star, has had quite an interesting 2010—what with his Christmas scuffle with his equally crazy wife, Brooke Mueller, rehab, an alleged cheating scandal, and most likely upcoming divorce.

During all of this bad-blood domestic crap, we felt like we were the only ones wondering what the hell is happening to Brooke and Charlie's kids.

And we may have found the answer in Richards...

We know that Sheen surrendered legal custody of the children he had with Denise—Sam and Lola—to his ex-wife earlier this week.

Well, we're hearing from a very reliable source in Richards' camp that Denise also offered to take care of Charlie and Brooke's kids, Max and Bob, while the still married couple sorted everything out.

Holy what?!

Remember, Denise and Charlie h-a-t-e-d each other. We're talking Despise City. The incredibly bitter exes butchered each other constantly in the media. So you know the situation must be bad at Brooke and Charlie's house if Denise, of all people, is offering to watch their kids.

We hear Denise wholeheartedly put the offer on the table to take care of Brooke and Charlie's baby boys when she was discussing with Sheen, behind the scenes, what to do with their two daughters. All of the children have the same dad, after all, and we hear Richards was fine putting personal issues aside and taking in the twins for a bit. Her beef was never with these babies.

It's totally sad having to report about what's happening to 1-year-olds while their effed-up parents divorce, but must say we think it's pretty cool of Denise to make the offer.

We have reached out to both reps for Sheen and Richards but they have yet to comment. And you know what that means...something's most likely up regarding this surprising scenario. Stay tuned.
