As we go into Thanksgiving week, I'd like to list the thing I'm most thankful for: CW president Dawn Ostroff.

Despite ratings that some have been calling lackluster (though yours truly never would!), Ms. Ostroff decided to pick up an additional seven episodes of Veronica Mars and eight episodes of One Tree Hill.

Can I get a "hell yeah"?!

This brings the total season tally of Veronica to 20 episodes and of One Tree Hill to 21, which are pretty dang close to the full-season order of 22.

For those of you worried about the ratings for these fan faves this season, please keep in mind that in the demos (you know, the things that actually sell ads) both shows are actually on the upswing. Veronica is up 7 percent and OTH is up 5 percent in the 18-to-34 age group compared to last year.

Regardless, CW insiders tell me the pickup was not exactly a sure thing—and somewhat of a hard sell for Ostroff with her superiors. So, this Thursday, raise a glass of Dom, cider or Yoo-hoo (whatever you please) to the CW and its fearless leader, will ya?
