Comedy is all in the timing. As a Saturday Night Live bit about Brittany Murphy, who died Sunday, sadly proves.

Two weekends ago, SNL used Murphy's reported firing from the thriller The Caller as material for a "Weekend Update" gag. The segment saw a loopy Murphy, played by Abby Elliott, interrupt anchorman Seth Meyers with her "best plan ever," yelling "Boo!" at the movie's premiere.

Oh, and the SNL Murphy was so out of it that the actress, who hosted the late-night show back in her 2002 prime, thought she was hosting again.

The line got a laugh. Because two weekends ago it was funny.

UPDATE: The video has since been pulled down.
