It’s no secret that Jen Affleck has expanded her family.
Five days after a nail appointment that ended with her going into labor, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star and her husband, Zac Affleck—parents to Nora, 3, and 23-month-old Lucas—have welcomed their third bundle of joy, a baby girl named Penelope.
"Baby Penelope is here," Jen wrote in an Instagram post July 2 alongside photos of her and Zac with their newest addition. "She is perfect."
And she provided insight into how the birthing process went.
"Going unmedicated was truly the most painful but empowering experience of my life," Jen continued. "I could not have done it without Zac and my supportive doula! I’m so grateful and so happy that Penny is earth side now."
Despite keeping the gender a mystery, Jen knew that her youngest was going to be a girl. “Nora has been hoping for a little sister, and I can tell she really wants it to be a girl,” she shared in an exclusive interview with People magazine published February 11. “I have a strong feeling it’s a girl. I’ve dreamed about this little girl for a while now, and I truly believe she’s the one I’m carrying.”
The news comes after Jen’s June 26 TikTok highlighting the moments when her nail salon experience took the biggest turn. The video featured the 26-year-old doing squats, getting the baby’s heartbeat checked, and even lying on the floor getting her cervix checked, explaining the events with, “POV: You start having contractions at your nail appointment.”
Meanwhile her nail tech Kortney Poulson was undeterred by the unconventional procedure, joking in the comments, “The cervix check on the salon floor was the plot twist we all weren’t expecting.”
Indeed, Jen updated her concerned fans by replying to a comment under the video with, “I’m feeling…GREAT!”
It’s going to be a busy few months for Jen. In addition to welcoming a new baby into her family, she’s also joining the Dancing With the Stars season 34 cast alongside co-star Whitney Leavitt.
“Because you women are so adorned,” Nick Viall announced during Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Reunion Special on July 1. “They are going to be sending two of you to Dancing With the Stars.”
And the pair couldn’t contain their excitement about the news. “We’re moving to L.A!,” Jen celebrated with Whitney before joking, “I hope you know you’re doing down! Just kidding. Bring it on.”
