Ten years ago, John Legend's life changed forever.
In August 2013, the singer released what would become his most successful single, "All of Me," which is dedicated to Chrissy Teigen. And a month later, he married her.
"This is a special season for me and my loved ones," John wrote on Instagram Aug. 30. "This September, Chrissy and I will celebrate 10 years of marriage and building our family together."
John—who shares children Luna, 7, Miles, 5, Esti, seven months, and Wren, two months, with his wife—continued, "As I look back on 2013, the year we got married, it was also a beautiful time creatively for me. Inspired by the love of my life, I was writing and recording my 4th solo studio album, Love In The Future, declaring it 'a new year for love.'"
The record was released Aug. 30, 2013. "The most impactful song was the one I sang at our wedding reception: 'All of Me,'" John wrote. "I had written this song with Toby Gad at his studio in LA, and the first time I sang it for Chrissy, I whispered it in her ear and she cried."
The singer noted, "Every time I played it for my collaborators on the album, they told me that it was something truly special. I started to believe that it could be the biggest song of my career."
Indeed it was. "All of Me" has sold more than 14 million copies since its release and is John's only song to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.
"Since its release, 'All of Me' has succeeded beyond my wildest dreams," the singer wrote. "To this day, I see so many of you getting married to 'All of Me,' getting engaged to it, covering it on your social media accounts. I'm so grateful for what this song has meant to my life, but also for what it's meant to you."
John's family has already celebrated the 10th anniversary of the release of "All of Me" in a sweet way. On Aug. 12, he shared an Instagram Stories clip of himself and Luna singing "Happy Birthday" to commemorate the occasion.

Meanwhile, John penned from his account, "I'm in awe of Chrissy's strength and resilience and I'm so thrilled to see how Luna and Miles embrace their baby sister. I'm so, so grateful, but that doesn't seem like a big enough word."
