Three days after a source told E! News that Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix had broken up, fans are taking a closer look at E! News' exclusive interview with their Vanderpump Rules co-star Raquel Leviss.
In the resurfaced clip from July 2022, Raquel shared details on her and Tom's relationship at the time, noting that he was someone she had grown close to amongst the Vanderpump Rules cast.
"I've gotten really close with Scheana [Shay] and Ariana and Tom Sandoval as well," Raquel told E! News last summer at an opening celebration of Schwartz and Sandy's. "I feel like he's become one of my best friends lately."
When asked what she loves the most about Tom, Raquel had multiple qualities to list.
"He just is so in touch with himself and is fully accepting of who he is and is so confident," she said. "I don't know. I feel like he looks at me like a little sister and he's supporting me in a very kind way. He's a really great guy."
Fast forward eight months later, and Raquel and Tom's relationship is now under a serious spotlight. Why? After nine years together, longtime boyfriend and girlfriend Tom and Ariana broke up, with some subsequent reports alleging that the reason for the split was that Tom and Raquel were having an affair.
Following the split, Scheana, Katie Maloney and Kristen Doute were all photographed heading to Ariana's house—where Tom still lives, his rep exclusively told E! News March 4—to be by her side.
Kristen, who used to date Tom before their breakup in 2013, arrived with flowers, wine and vocal support. The 40-year-old posted a selfie video with Ariana on her Instagram Stories that day, where she declared, "I stan Ariana. This is in real time."
Tom has yet to comment on the alleged affair, but he did take to his Instagram with a message related to the matter and how the media attention has affected his restaurant Schwartz and Sandy's.
"Hey, I fully understand and deserve ur anger & disappointment towards me, but please leave [Tom] Schwartz, my friends and family out of this situation," he wrote on Instagram March 4. "This was a very personal thing. They did nothing wrong. I will be taking a step back & taking a hiatus out of respect for my employees & partners. I need some time to address everything else. Sorry for everything."
E! News has reached out to reps for Tom, Raquel and Ariana about the allegations but hasn't received a comment.
