All of John Legend already has so much love for his newborn daughter.

One month after the singer and wife Chrissy Teigen welcomed their daughter Esti Maxine Stephens, he is reflecting on their first days as a family of five.

"It was making me emotional the first two nights we were home because I just felt the love expand in the house," John told The Wall Street Journal in an interview published on Feb. 13, "and I felt the excitement."

Chrissy and John, who are also parents to daughter Luna, 6, and son Miles, 4, announced Esti's arrival during a private concert shortly after her arrival.

Following the exciting news, John told E! that ahead of Esti's arrival, he and Chrissy weren't sure how Luna and Miles would feel about having a newborn around.

"We weren't sure how they would take it," the Grammy winner said in a Feb. 2 episode of E! News. "I felt like they were a little jealous when mommy was pregnant."

Luckily, the kids were nothing but welcoming when their sister came home.

"But as soon as Esti arrived," John continued, "they're just exploding with love and joy, and they're so caring and loving toward her. They want to hold her, they want to kiss her and it's really exciting."

As for the meaning behind the little one's name, John noted that it has a sentimental family value.

"It turns out, my great-grandmother was named Esther, he told E! News that same month. "It wasn't intentionally after someone but once Chrissy told me that idea, I was like, 'Oh, my great-grandmother's name was Esther.'"

John and Chrissy announced they were expecting another baby in August 2022, two years after the author experienced a pregnancy loss in October 2020. And Chrissy, who has been open with her fertility struggles and in-vitro fertilization journey, reflected on the emotional time when sharing her joyous news.

"The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again," Chrissy wrote on Instagram Aug. 3. "1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way."
