Everyone's heartstrings have been tugged by the ASPCA's emotional TV commercials, including star Sarah McLachlan.

Set to her emotional 1997 ballad "Angel" and featuring shots of sad-looking pets, the long-running ads are "brutal," the singer acknowledged exclusively on E! News Feb. 9. But it's for an important reason, she shared: So that viewers "bring the wallet out."

"I will do whatever it takes to help," she told E! News co-hosts Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and Justin Sylvester. "And I think that ad generated like 30 million dollars for the ASPCA in two years, and it still gets played."

But for as melancholy as they are to watch, the 55-year-old said the ads were anything but hard to film, as the only difficult part was getting her canine co-star to calm down.

"It couldn't settle," she said of one of the commercial's dogs, "so that was challenging."

The Grammy winner had a similar experience filming with a wolf for her brand-new Super Bowl commercial with Busch Light, which pokes fun at her memorable ASPCA ads.

"This is a super fun opportunity, obviously, to partner with this iconic beer brand and take the piss a little bit out of the ASPCA commercial," she joked. "We, as Canadians, like that opportunity. I don't take myself very seriously."

And though it's been six years since the release of her latest album, Wonderland, in 2016, fans will be excited to know that the star has new music on the way.

"I am working on it," Sarah revealed on E! News. "I don't know if it's gonna be this year or into this year, or the beginning of next year. But, hopefully, it will be out soon."

As for potential collaborators? After Brandi Carlile invited her to perform her song "Angel" with her during a 2022 concert, Sarah has racked up a long list of artists she'd love to work with in the future.

"Billie Eilish, Finneas—the pair of them would be really great together," she shared. "Adele, Chris Martin, Coldplay, Ray LaMontagne…I mean, I could go on."
