Candace Cameron Bure is putting her faith first.
The Full House star recently reflected on the backlash she got late last year after stating the that Great American Family network would "keep traditional marriage at the core," revealing how focusing on her relationship with her Christian faith help her navigate the tough times.
"Cancel culture is real and it is difficult," Candace said during a Feb. 8 appearance on the Unapologetic with Julia Jeffress Sadler podcast. "It's hard but listen—I just want to encourage you that you are not the only one and there are lots of us and we are always stronger together. And you have to find your community and know the word of God."
The 46-year-old's biggest words of encouragement would be that "when you're leading your own actions—not just talking the talk but walking the walk—and when that truth comes with love and kindness and respect it goes a whole lot further."
Following her Nov. 14 comments to The Wall Street Journal, Candace was swiftly criticized by other celebs for saying the network had no plans to feature same sex couples.
JoJo Siwa, who had previously feuded with the actress earlier in 2022 responded on Instagram Nov. 15. The Dance Moms alum, who came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, called Candace's comment "rude and hurtful to a whole community of people."
Candace's Full House costar Jodie Sweetin showed her support for JoJo, commenting, "You know I love you," under her post.
Jonathan Bennett followed suit and shared his appreciation for the Hallmark channel.
"I'm just so proud to be on Hallmark channel that's making these movies for everyone," he told E! News at the time. "Because Christmas is for everyone and Hallmark channels are for everyone."
As for how Candace felt after the controversy?
"I have great love and affection for all people," Candace said in follow up statement. "It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone."
The Aurora Teagarden alum explained what her goal was when it came to joining the GAF network in the first place.
"I have long wanted to find a home for more faith-based programming," Candace noted. "I am grateful to be an integral part of a young and growing network. I had also expressed in my interview, which was not included, that people of all ethnicities and identities have and will continue to contribute to the network in great ways both in front of and behind the camera, which I encourage and fully support."
