Tristan Thompson is reflecting on his mom's legacy one month after her tragic death.

After his mom, Andrea Thompson, died suddenly on Jan. 5, the NBA star penned a heartbreaking message on social media in her honor.

"Dearest mommy in heaven, it has been one month since you've been gone," he wrote alongside photos of their family on Instagram Feb. 5. "I'm in disbelief. I'm in the deepest part of sorrow & grief. My soul is empty as I come to terms that my biggest supporter/superhero is gone."

Praising his mom as a hero, Tristan went on to note she "fought all the battles" in life, adding, "and it was time for you to go home."

"Man, What I wouldn't give to hear ur voice," he continued. "Mommy I know you're watching down on me; I wanna say thank you for picking me as your son."

Following the news of Andrea's passing in January, TMZ, citing sources with direct knowledge, reported that she suffered a heart attack at her Toronto home.

In his note, Tristan, who is an older brother to his siblings Dishawn, Daniel and Amari, also reflected on the impact their mom had on her sons' lives.

"Mommy, all the sacrifices you did for ur sons will never go unnoticed or without appreciation," the 31-year-old wrote. "You were an amazing mommy, role model, best friend & the strongest woman I know. I know you're here as I write this letter."

Tristan also shared his eternal promise for his brother Amari, who has epilepsy, noting that he will continue to "protect him, love him & do anything in the world to make sure he's ok."

"I know they say time heals all but I don't think this pain will ever go away," he added. "We had so many memories & more I wanted to share with you. We will still share them but now from heaven."

The Toronto native—who received messages of support from Kim Kardashian, LeBron James and Malika Haqq in response to his post—concluded his message with a pledge for his guardian angel.

"As the tears roll down my face, all I can ask is please continue to be my light," he wrote. "Mommy, you're my guardian angel and I'll forever praise you. I love you mommy. I can't wait to see you and when I do I'm going to run and give you the biggest hug and kiss. I promise to make you proud."
