Hilaria Baldwin is sharing her perspective amid husband Alec Baldwin's legal troubles.
Nearly two weeks after the New Mexico District Attorney's Office announced that the actor will be charged with involuntary manslaughter following the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust in 2021, Hilaria noted her gratitude for the support she and her husband have received.
"It's been an emotional time for my family," she said during the Jan. 29 episode of her iHeartRadio podcast, Witches Anonymous. "And I do so want to express to you how grateful I am for your support and your kindness and your reason."
The 39-year-old added, "Quite honestly, I think without it, we would crumble. So, thank you so much for being our rock right now because I don't feel so strong."
Hilaria—who shares kids Carmen, 9, Rafael, 7, Leonardo, 6, Romeo, 4, Eduardo, 2, María, 23 months, and Ilaria, 4 months, with the 30 Rock star—also went on to note the impact the development has had on their children.
"Kids are sponges and certain conversations are not always age appropriate," she continued. "We cannot deny that they don't feel the energy and pick up on certain things in the family and at home, also parenting little people can be stressful regardless of added stress."
The author's insight into their family dynamic comes after New Mexico's district attorney, Mary Carmack-Altwies, and Rust special prosecutor, Andrea Reeb, confirmed Jan. 19 that Baldwin, who is also a producer on the film, and the movie's armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed will be both be charged with involuntary manslaughter in the 2021 fatal shooting on set.
The October 2021 shooting occurred after a loaded prop gun held by Baldwin discharged, killing Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.
Souza, who was shot in the shoulder, was treated and was later released. No charges will be filed specific to the non-fatal shooting of the director, the district attorney's office stated in their release.
Shortly after the intent to file charges were confirmed, Baldwin's attorney, Luke Nikas, vowed his client would fight the case.
"This decision distorts Halyna Hutchins' tragic death and represents a terrible miscarriage of justice," he said in a statement shared to NBC News Jan. 19. "Mr. Baldwin had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun—or anywhere on the movie set. He relied on the professionals with whom he worked, who assured him the gun did not have live rounds. We will fight these charges, and we will win."
Additionally, an attorney for Gutierrez-Reed echoed a similar sentiment.
"Hannah is, and has always been, very emotional and sad about this tragic accident," Gutierrez-Reed's lawyer, Jason Bowles, told E! News in a Jan. 19 statement. "But she did not commit involuntary manslaughter. These charges are the result of a very flawed investigation, and an inaccurate understanding of the full facts. We intend to bring the full truth to light and believe Hannah will be exonerated of wrongdoing by a jury."
