Watch: Ariana Grande Proves She's Still a Singer on TikTok

For the time being, Ariana Grande just wants to focus on her Wicked movies.

And she doesn't need any negativity as she heads down this yellow brick road. The two-time Grammy winner recently took to TikTok to address a comment she received that asked, "Why aren't you a singer anymoree?!?!?"

Well, Ariana shut this idea down by belting out a beautiful rendition of "Over the Rainbow."

"Wanted to sing you a little something but don't want to sing anything that is not 'Ozian' at the moment :)," she captioned the Jan. 20 video. "Keeping to my little bubble for now…done with lots of love."

As Ariana explained, she "is literally on set filming two musical movies all day every day," with director Jon M. Chu announcing in April that his Wicked project will consist of not one but two movies. In fact, Ariana—who's been spotted on the Wicked set over the past few months—noted she made the video "mid getting ready." Although, she wore a pink sweater with a hood that covered up her blonde tresses as she was "hiding Galinda's hair."

Ariana isn't the only star in the movies. Cynthia Erivo is playing Elphaba and Jonathan Bailey is portraying Fiyero. E! News can also confirm that Michelle Yeoh is taking on the role of Madame Morrible and Jeff Goldblum has been cast as the Wizard. In addition, Variety reported that Ethan Slater will play Boq.

As Ariana noted in a May 2022 YouTube video, she'd "started hearing murmurs about a Wicked audition coming soon" and "went into full preparation mode" while she was filming The Voice in 2021.

"So, I was shooting and then doing lessons every day because I just wanted to be prepared for when the call came," she shared. "I had no idea when it was coming, but I was just like, 'I want to be ready to go in.' I know that I know the material like the back of my hand, but I still have so much to learn and I want to be in prime condition. So, I went pretty hard getting ready."

And playing Glinda has been her longtime dream.

"And now, thank God, thank goodness literally, the most incredible gift of my entire life is this role that I've adored since I [was] 10 years old and that is going to have every piece of me," Ariana continued. "Every minute, every ounce of my heart, my time, my soul, my everything that I can give it."

While she noted in the YouTube video that this means she hasn't been working on another album, it looks like she is ready to defy gravity with this new role and that she has the support of Kristin Chenoweth, who played Glinda in the original Broadway production.

"She's going to put her own stamp on it," she told Andy Cohen during the Jan. 16 episode of Watch What Happens Live. "I'm so proud of her. I wanted her to do her Glinda. And that's what she's doing. I'm proud of her."
