Lisa Marie's passing comes two days after she attended the 2023 Golden Globes with Priscilla to support actor Austin Butler, who was honored for playing the King in the Baz Luhrmann movie Elvis. He took home the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama, and shouted out the mother-daughter duo in his speech.

The love was mutual, as Lisa Marie said of Austin in June, "I do believe that this may be my first smile in 2 years."

She also praised the director, writing on Twitter, "Baz, your utter genius combined with your love and respect for my father and this project is just so beautiful and so inspiring... Thank you for setting the record straight in such a deeply profound and artistic way."

Baz got close to the family while working on the film, and they recently celebrated what would have been Elvis' 88th birthday on Jan. 8. "It was so great to share ELVIS' birthday with Lisa Marie Presley, Riley, friends, family and all those that, in the spirit of ELVIS went out to the theatres," he wrote this week. "It was indeed a happy birthday and celebration of a legacy!"
