Priscilla Presley Speaks Out on Daughter Lisa Marie Presley's Hospitalization

Amid news that Lisa Marie Presley has been hospitalized for suspected cardiac arrest, her mother Priscilla Presley shared a statement asking for "prayers from around the world."

UPDATE 6:18 PM PT: Lisa Marie Presley has died. She was 54.

"It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us," her mom Priscilla Presley confirmed in a statement to People Jan. 12. "She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment."


Priscilla Presley is asking for prayers amid her daughter Lisa Marie Presley's hospitalization.

On Jan. 12, the Naked Gun actress, 77, spoke out about Lisa Marie's condition following news that the singer had been taken to a Los Angeles-area hospital for a medical emergency.

"My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital," she said in a statement shared on Facebook. "She is now receiving the best care."

While Priscilla did not specify what caused her daughter to go to the hospital, she did ask fans to "keep her and our family in your prayers."

"We feel the prayers from around the world," Priscilla added, "and ask for privacy at this time."  

Lisa Marie—who is the only child of Priscilla and Elvis Presley—was transported to a hospital after going into cardiac arrest on Jan. 12, according to Entertainment Tonight. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told the outlet that a 54-year-old woman was in cardiac arrest when paramedics arrived to her Calabasas home.

Per TMZ, paramedics were able to regain a pulse after performing CPR on her. She was then transported her to a local medical center.

News of the hospitalization comes just two days after Lisa Marie and Priscilla attended the 2023 Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton. The mother-daughter duo were in the crowd when Austin Butler won the award for Best Performance in a Motion Picture – Drama for his titular role in Elvis.

At the time, the actor thanked Lisa Marie and Priscilla for "opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me."

He added, "Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever."
