Lifetime is making a smart play for Bravo's Project Runway fans.

Just before it kicks off its first season of airing the show—the show's sixth overall—the network will be courting tried-and-true viewers by taking a page from the Survivor, Top Chef and Big Brother playbooks.

Project Runway: All-Star Challenge, a two-hour special pitting favorite designers from past seasons in a head-to-head battle, will air Aug. 20 just before the new season's premiere.

Not unlike the first time around, the eight designers—all of whom placed in the top five on their respective seasons—will be competing for a sweet $100,000 cash prize.

Sadly, Kenley Collins won't be putting down her cat, and Christian Siriano is too busy plotting his November takeover of Starbucks to participate. So who will be heading into the workroom?

Instead, you'll see the following familiar faces:

  • Santino Rice (season two)
  • Sweet P (season four)
  • Mychael Knight (season three)
  • Korto Momolu (season five runner-up)
  • Chris March (season four)
  • Uli Herzner (season three runner-up)
  • Jeffrey Sebelia (season three winner)
  • Daniel Vosovic (season two runner-up)

Lucky for the elite eight, they'll have Tim Gunn advising them yet again, and Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia again filling the judges chairs.

Project Runway: All-Star Challenge airs Thursday, Aug. 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Season six takes its first trip down the catwalk immediately after at 10 p.m.

So many questions for you: Who do you wish were doing this special? Do you think it's fair that a winner gets another shot at the big bucks? How pumped are you for the return of P.R.?

And most importantly, how badly do shows like American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance need to get onboard and do all-star versions? Can you even imagine the awesomeness that would be Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken or Danny Tidwell and William Wingfield facing off?!
