Two days after Aaron's death at age 34, his fiancée Melanie reflected on her future with their 11-month-old son Prince.
"I only wish I had more people to help me with him," she told People in a Nov. 7 statement. "I will now be raising our son as a single mother and this is the worst day of my life, but I have to be strong for our son."
Noting that she is "devastated," Melanie voiced her grief on the loss of Aaron—who she got engaged to in 2020.
"My heart is completely broken over the passing of my fiancé Aaron," she said. "I knew he was struggling, and I tried everything to help him He has a very independent and strong personality, and I couldn't help him in the way I felt he needed it."
Melanie's message comes after she first broke her silence on his death by explaining in a Nov. 5 statement to Associated Press News that she is "still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality."
Melanie also shared a since-deleted TikTok video where she is seen crying in the driver's seat of a car.
Aaron's rep confirmed to E! News on Nov. 5 that the 34-year-old singer "was found unresponsive" in his home in Palmdale, Calif.
Per a press release obtained by E! News, LA Sheriff's Department deputies came to the property after receiving a 9-1-1 call from a house sitter who said she found a man unresponsive in the bathtub. After police arrived to the scene, fire department staff arrived and pronounced him deceased. Aaron's cause of death has not been revealed.
Melanie and Aaron first went public with their relationship in January 2020 and, in April of that same year, the pair announced they were expecting a child together. However, two months later, Melanie and Aaron revealed in a YouTube livestream that Melanie had suffered a miscarriage.
At the time, Aaron announced Prince's arrival on Instagram, writing, "Prince is precious I love you son. Your mommy loves you as I drop tears on the phone."
