The competition on American Song Contest has finally come to an end.

The show's May 9 Grand Final saw the remaining 11 states and U.S. territories compete for the coveted Gold Microphone and title of America's Best Original Song.

Washington's Allen Stone sat at the top of the leaderboard heading into the final episode, earning the jury vote for the first round of semi-finals. Also making it through the first semi-finals round was Oklahoma's AleXa, Colorado's Riker Lynch, Kentucky's Jordan Smith and Alabama duo NiCo.

Tennessee native Tyler Braden secured the jury vote for the second semi-finals round, moving through to the finale with North Dakota's Chloe Fredericks, Texas' Grant Knoche, American Samoa representative Tenelle and two-time Grammy winner Michael Bolton representing Connecticut.

The competitors sang their hearts out one last time during the Grand Final in hopes of winning it all. Based on jury votes alone, Allen Stone held his place at the top of the leaderboard, followed by Tyler Braden and Jordan Smith. But who was the act American chose to take home the American Song Contest title?

Kelly Clarkson's Best Candid Moments

Sitting in fifth place, AleXa rose to the top after America's votes were added to the jury scores, taking home the title of Best Original Song with her catchy hit "Wonderland."

"Being able to win this for Oklahoma means so much to me because, I said this in prior interviews, but 'Wonderland,' metaphorically, the white rabbit that led me as Alice through my journeys and everything, that is the people that I grew up with in Oklahoma," AleXa exclusively told E! News on the red carpet after the show. "I am so grateful to have been born and raised there, 21 years. I met so many incredible people, and it's truly a blessing to kind of full circle, round out this journey."

Host Kelly Clarkson was surprised by the night's results but couldn't be happier for the rising star. "I just love that the very first text I got about this show was from Blake Shelton from Oklahoma, and he was like, 'There's a K-Pop artist from Oklahoma?'" Clarkson told E! News on the red carpet. "I was like, 'Yes, and she won.'"

"I was shocked, but at the same time, she had great performances every time she hit the stage," said fellow host Snoop Dogg. "K-Pop is a big genre, her fans supported her, and she's a great performer. So, it is what it is. You know, I feel like the best person won, best song won. It was appropriately judged. Jury gave their votes, and then America came in and did their thing."

As for where fans can check out AleXa next? She will be performing alongside artists like Ed Sheeran, Megan Thee Stallion, Travis Scott and more at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards on May 15 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC.

Fans of American Song Contest can catch the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest streaming on Peacock beginning May 10.
