Oxygen's true-crime series An Unexpected Killer is back for its third and most shocking season yet. Brand new episodes begin March 4, and based on this exclusive sneak peek, viewers will be second-guessing everything as they follow along with experienced homicide investigators who believe they're inches away from solving a complicated case, only to come across something entirely unanticipated. From new witnesses to an overlooked piece of evidence, just know that each investigation will be sent into a completely new direction—perhaps even closer to home.
As one interviewee warns in the below trailer, "He was not the man we thought he was."
In addition to featuring these captivating interviews with key players and even potential suspects, An Unexpected Killer will also offer re-enactments and conduct an in-depth examination of each crime scene.
It's all kicking off on the season three premiere, which is sure to shock even the savviest of true-crime fans.
Dubbed "A Predator Within," the premiere aims to seek justice for an athletic and popular college student who was murdered in her apartment. Police track down several surprising suspects, including one with a disturbing obsession, but crucial evidence eventually unmasks a dangerous predator no one saw coming.
The sneak peek provides a glimpse at some of the other cases to come on this season of An Unexpected Killer, including those that have key players saying everything from, "The person that did it could have been amongst us," to, "It was someone that if you passed [them] on the street, [they] would look as innocent as they come."
