Barack and Michelle Obama are keeping the party going with the literary types.

Just last weekend, they brought out the A-listers for the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

And Tuesday night, they had a house party of sorts...but a classy one, of course.

The first family welcomed actors, poets and writers to the East Room of the White House for An Evening of Poetry, Music and the Spoken Word.

So who was on the guest list?

First daughters Sasha and Malia were in attendance to hear James Earl Jones perform a spoken reading and catch pianist Eric Lewis.

But Sasha and Malia weren't the only kids there...local high schoolers also joined the Obamas for the event.

Sounds like a good excuse to stay up late on a school night!
