Real Housewives of New York alum Jill Zarin penned an emotional Instagram post on the third anniversary of her husband Bobby Zarin's death

On Jan. 13 Jill, who appeared on the first four seasons of the Bravo reality show before returning as a guest in season 11, shared a photo of Bobby to Instagram, along with a call for donations to MSK and MD Andersen in memory of her late spouse. In the caption, she wrote a sweet note to Bobby that reflected on the little things she's learned from him in the wake of his death from cancer at age 71.

"Today I mourn my soul mate Bobby Zarin, who lives through me every day," she began. "I finally learned to close doors , turn off lights, check the car before I get out and all the other little things he tried to get me to do while he was here. Why does it take him dying for us to learn the lessons he taught us all. I talk to you everyday Bobby and I know you hear me. You feel me. You touch me. I have tried to live the way you taught me. To always do the right thing no matter what or how hard it can be sometimes."

The furniture designer continued, writing, "I promised you when you turn around I will be there because heaven doesn't have clocks ( oh .. you would be so proud of me.. I have Jill Zarin Clocks now! Lol.)"

She also spoke of her "wonderful boyfriend," Gary Brody, who she began dating in 2018. She wrote that Gary knows and respects her love story with Bobby, and even credited her late husband with bringing Gary into her life.

"I know you brought him to me because you know I needed someone to take care of me and you found a great guy," Jill wrote. "I have so much to say but I will talk to you privately. I know you hear me."

Bobby was first diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2009. In 2016, Jill shared that his cancer had returned, and in 2017, Bobby was hospitalized at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. He died on Jan. 13, 2018.

"It is hard to imagine a life without him but he wanted me to move on...find love again and that ‘life is for the living,'" Jill wrote on Instagram on the first anniversary of Bobby's death in 2019. "We all remember the incredible man, father, brother, friend and husband he was. Bobby Zarin will never be forgotten. @allyshapiro and I miss him everyday but he is always in our hearts. I love you Bobby."
