The nominees were announced last month and include the likes of Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Joaquin Phoenix, Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam Driver, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Awkwafina, Eddie Murphy, Charlize Theron, Renee Zellweger, Michael Douglas, Ben Platt, Christina Applegate, Natasha Lyonne, Patricia Arquette, Joey King, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Bill Hader and Rachel Brosnahan.
Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Martin Scorsese's The Irishman and Marriage Story, directed by Noah Baumbach, are nominated for multiple awards.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Fleabag and Barry are the top TV comedy contenders. HBO limited series Chernobyl is also up for several awards.
Ricky Gervais returns as the ever-acerbic, no-holds-barred host of the annual event for the first time in four years, marking his fifth such stint in a decade.
