Sporty Spice Spawns: Mel C Welcomes Daughter

British pop star welcomes baby Scarlet Starr, first child with boyfriend Thomas Starr

Two became one for real for Sporty Spice.

Melanie Chisholm, 35, and her boyfriend of more than six years, Thomas Starr, welcomed a baby girl Sunday afternoon in London, according to the Spice Girl's personal website.

"The baby weighed 8 lb 3 oz," the site says. "Both Mum and baby, named Scarlet Starr, are doing fine."

In addition to learning the ropes of motherhood—Scarlet is the "Wannabe" singer's first child—Mel C is working on her fifth solo album.
