It's the end of an era.

Britney Spears announced Monday that she's leaving Las Vegas. Her final performances at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will begin Sept. 3 and will end Dec. 31. "As I prepare to say goodbye to Piece of Me, I had no idea how magical this experience would be," the 35-year-old singer told E! News in a statement, adding, "Having my fans from around the world come see my show has been amazing. I love Las Vegas and will miss performing this show."

In an Instagram post, Spears added, "Saying goodbye to this show is going to be SO hard."

"When we first announced Britney: Piece of Me four years ago, we were certain that Britney's residency would revolutionize the entertainment landscape in Las Vegas, and are thrilled at how successful the show has been," Jason Gastwirth, senior vice president of Caesars Entertainment marketing and entertainment, said in a statement. "Caesars Entertainment has always led the evolution of Las Vegas entertainment. Britney's emergence in this market paved the way for other artists to make Las Vegas their home and as a result, the top entertainment destination in the world. We look forward to working together with Britney again in the future."

"Being named the best show in Las Vegas, among other accolades, Britney's residency marked a new era of entertainment as the city's first pop music resident artist," David Hoenemeyer, regional president of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, told E! News in a statement. "We are delighted that Britney has called The AXIS at Planet Hollywood home for the last four years."

Since its opening in December 2013, the show has grossed over $100 million in ticket sales.

Tickets will go on sale to the public Friday, Apr. 14 at 10 a.m. PT.

Spears' contract ends in December. "We are done with this show, and our next move is undecided," the pop star's manager, Larry Rudolph, told The Las Vegas Review-Journal Friday. "We are still talking with Caesars Entertainment and other interested parties in Las Vegas." Rudolph added that the singer's next venue "could be conceivably anywhere," joking, "We could have it at the needle on the top of the Stratosphere, and do the bungee jump afterward."

It's possible Spears might stay in Sin City. "Anything is possible. We have made zero decisions. We expect a lot of interest from all parties. Britney basically sells out every show, and she loves Las Vegas, she loves performing in Vegas, and Vegas is a possibility going forward," he added. "She might tour, she might work on a new album. It's too early to talk specifics about anything."
