Cheating Rumors: One bit of speculation that has since been shut down surrounds rumors that Brad was unfaithful to Angelina with his Allied co-star Marion Cotillard

Page Six reported Angelina hired a private investigator to spy on him on set, which led her to believe he'd been unfaithful.

However, a source told E! News these rumors are not true, and Cotillard has since released her own statement to shut down any idea of that. She took to Instagram to write, "This crafted conversation isn't distressing. And to all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery...I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment."

Bad Parenting: Insiders told E! News Angelina filed for divorce due to being upset over Brad's parenting methods, which is why she's asking for physical custody of the six children, MaddoxPaxZaharaShiloh, and twins Knox and Viviennne.

In fact, on Thursday, TMZ and People reported that the LAPD and Department of Child and Family Services are investigating Brad for alleged child abuse. However, when contacted by E! News, the LAPD denied any involvement and the DCFS was unable to comment due to privacy laws.

The reported investigation comes after an incident on a private plane September 14, the publications claimed. Pitt and Jolie separated September 15.

A source close to the investigation told E! News, "[Brad] is taking this very seriously and is cooperating fully. He will continue to do what's in the best interest of the children...[He] is most concerned about his children and the best thing for them is to keep the situation private."

Angelina's manager, Geyer Kosinski, reiterated a similar point when he released a statement following the divorce news. "Angelina will always do what's in the best interest of taking care of her family," he said on her behalf. "She appreciates everyone's understanding of their need for privacy at this time."

Different Lifestyles: Another source told E! News the pair have different ideas about their future.

"They have gradually grown apart and have realized they value and prioritize different things, [and] these issues have got in the way of their marriage,"the insider told us. "Angelina is very dedicated to her work with the UN and working on other charitable endeavors while Brad is consumed with his film projects. Both of their interests have taken them across the world—not together but in different directions. They haven't been able to compromise on much of anything lately."

The source also noted, "Angelina hasn't been happy for some time."

It's Been a Drawn-Out Process: E! News learned their split didn't happen all of a sudden and has actually been a "long time coming."

This makes sense, considering the rumors that began floating around earlier this year regarding their relationship.

In January, In Touch reported the couple was "living separate lives" after a series of fights between them over the holidays. Then, in March, the publication reported matters only got worse due to a rift between Brangelina stemming from his work with Cotillard.

"The resentment has been eating away at Angelina," a source told the publication at the time. "She's prone to think that since she was once Brad's co-star and seduced him away from his wife, the same will happen to her."

It Hasn't Been Easy for Either of Them: A source told E! News, though Angelina filed for the divorce, they are both struggling through it.

"It has been a very difficult time. It's been a very hard decision to make, but ultimately they both did the best they could to make the relationship work," the insider shared. "Both sides are hurting very deeply right now."

Another source added, "They were always very deeply in love, very passionate, very intense and very romantic...They were a good partnership created from two very different personalities but they were bound together by this deep love. They had a joint mutual outlook on life and the strength of their family unit was at the center of it."

They Haven't Been Out Together in Two Months: The last time Brad and Angelina were seen out together was in mid-July while celebrating the twin's birthday at The Griddle Cafe.

Since May, the pair have only been photographed together three times.

Brad Broke His Silence:  He released a statement about the divorce saying, "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."

Angelina Has Hired a High-Powered Legal Team: The actress is making sure she has the best legal team on her side when it comes to battling through the divorce. She hired Robert Offer and Laura Wasser—the attorney who helped her through her divorce from Billy Bob Thornton and who has led many other divorce cases, including that of: Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian West, Johnny Depp, Mariah Carey and more.
