These have to be seen to be believed.

The man, the myth, the legend. Ladies and gentleman, we give you Prince

And for all of the memorable songs he created—it's hard to name even one that stands out among the stellar crowd of jams—his non-lyrical moments will live on just as long. That's because Prince Rogers Nelson was one totally badass dude. The word cool doesn't even begin to describe him, but it also fits Prince better than almost anyone else out there. The artist was so openly, unapologetic-ally and awesomely himself, and that showed through in pretty much everything he did, whether he was dressing for the day or going to a basketball game. (And yes, if you're wondering, he did both of those things way better than everyone else).

In honor of his amazing life and the legacy he now leaves behind, we're taking a look back at our favorite of Prince's totally out-there, IDGAF moments. Because who else but Prince should change his name to a damn symbol and come out the other side even cooler?

1. The time he kicked Kim Kardashian off his stage because she wasn't dancing:

If you are at a Prince concert and the legend himself invites you onstage, you do whatever he wants. Or at the very least, you should probably dance along to his music. It's a concert, after all. Like the King he was, Prince said no more to that awkwardness.

2. The time he watched a basketball game like this:

It was a Golden State Warriors versus Oklahoma City Thunder game, but who cares? What was the score? We literally don't give a crap. All that anybody stared at that day was the awe-inspiring sight in the front row—shiny tracksuit, huge sunglasses and cane, to boot.

He's so cool he doesn't even need letters.

4. The time he upstaged Beyoncé:

Queen B, meet Prince. He's here to still your thunder.

5. The time he was a local high school basketball star:

The above article is from a July, 1984 article in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the content of which we really haven't paid any attention to because the actual basketball photo itself is so perfect. That hair! Those shorty-shorts! Those Converse! We don't want to watch a basketball game any other way than one that stars Prince.

6. The time he performed "Purple Rain" in the rain:

It was one of the best Super Bowl halftime shows of all time, and it wasn't just because that downpour looked so bad ass.

7. The time he wanted to be on New Girl and then they wrote an entire episode around him:

Apparently he totally shipped Nick and Jess; and what Prince ships, goes.

8. The time he gave the 2015 Grammys the side-eye:

Not only did he surprise the entire audience (which caused the entire world to lose its mind), he threw out this perfectly GIF-able look. Now that's how you live on for eternity.

9. The time he never forgot his Minnesota roots:

His Midwest upbringing was so important to Prince that he chose just never to leave. The city helped mold him into the artist the world grew to love, and in turn he became a walking mascot for that frigid city. Now that's loyalty.

10. The time he pulled all his music from streaming sites:

It was way back in 2010, which means he was light-years ahead of his time (Did you hear that, Taylor?). He did it to make a point about artists getting their fair pay, but he also managed to slip in a comment about the Internet being totally over, which is simply fabulous.
